Scholastic Summer Reading Program

Submitted by Mrs. West-Dye:

I have registered my classes for the Summer Reading Challenge through Scholastic. It is a free program for students and teachers to keep children reading all summer long.
It logs their minutes on the site reading and playing games/doing activities related to the reading and rewards them with virtual prizes. The more time they log, the more books they can unlock (things like Amulet, Divergent, etc).
The program began on May 4th and runs through Sept. 4. The school that logs the most minutes wins a meeting with a famous author!
My kids are really enjoying it and I've been rewarding them for participation since it began May 4th and will do so through the end of school :)
Feel free to share with the other teachers, if you feel they'd be interested.
